Terms of service
What you can expect from Xodus, what we expect from you, and who is responsible for what.

Contents — 23 sections
These terms are the agreement between you and Xodus. They cover what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and who is responsible for what. Please read them — by creating an account or using Xodus, you agree to them.
The most important thing in here: Xodus helps you find and organize support, but the organizations, employers and officers you deal with are not us. What Xodus shows you is information, not a promise — and a record in Xodus is not official proof to any court or supervising agency.
Who we are, and what Xodus is
Xodus is operated by LIIVDATA, 1201 North Orange Street, Suite 7065, Wilmington, DE 19801, United States. "We", "us" and "Xodus" mean that company. "You" means you, whether you use the website or the iOS or Android app — these terms apply the same either way.
Xodus is a platform that brings reentry support into one place. It lists organizations offering housing, employment, mental health and drug treatment, mentoring, legal aid, counseling and advocacy. It lets you track supervision conditions and the documents that evidence them, keep a plan, manage meetings and reminders, and apply to jobs. It lets the people supporting you see the same picture you do.
Xodus is free for people in reentry. There is nothing to buy in the app and we do not ask for payment details. If we ever introduce a paid feature we will say so clearly first, and nothing you already have will start costing money without your agreement.
What Xodus is not
This section matters more than the rest. Please read it properly.
Xodus is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) in the United States. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. Do not use Xodus to report an emergency — nobody is monitoring it in real time.
It is not advice
- Nothing in Xodus is legal advice. Listings for legal aid organizations are contact information, not representation. Only a lawyer you have retained can advise you on your case, your record or your rights.
- Nothing in Xodus is medical, clinical or mental-health advice. We are not a healthcare provider and we do not diagnose or treat anyone. Treatment listings are referrals to organizations that do.
- Nothing in Xodus is a decision about your supervision, your eligibility for a program, or your record.
It is not proof, and it is not a substitute for your obligations
You remain responsible for complying with every condition of your parole, probation or supervision, and for whatever your officer or agency requires of you directly. Marking a condition complete in Xodus, or uploading a document to it, is a record for you and your support team — it is not a submission to a court, a parole board or any agency, and it does not discharge any legal obligation. Always confirm what your officer or agency needs, and how they need to receive it.
It is not a guarantee
Being listed on Xodus does not mean an organization has space, funding, or the ability to help you. Seeing a job posting does not mean you will be hired. Completing your plan does not entitle you to housing, employment, treatment or any other outcome. Every organization and employer decides for itself.
Who may use Xodus
You must be at least 18, or old enough to enter a contract where you live and using Xodus with the involvement of a supervising agency or a parent or guardian. Xodus is not for children under 13 and we will close an account we find belongs to one.
You may not use Xodus if we have previously terminated your account, or if a law that applies to you prohibits it.
Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it current. Xodus is used by people making decisions about your support, and wrong information leads to wrong decisions.
- Your account is yours. Do not share it, transfer it, or let anyone else sign in as you.
- Keep your password and your email account secure. Anyone who can read your email can request a sign-in link, so protecting your inbox matters as much as protecting your password.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access. Email us and change your password — resetting it signs out every other session.
If you were invited by an officer, case manager or organization, the invitation is for you personally. Setting a password makes the account yours, and what you do with it is your responsibility.
Partner organizations and their listings
Most of what you read on Xodus was written by the organization it describes. An administrator reviews an organization before its listings become visible, and that check is real — but it is a check that the organization looks legitimate and relevant. It is not an endorsement, an inspection, an accreditation, or a promise about the quality, safety, availability or legality of anything they provide.
- Verify important details directly with the organization before relying on them. Addresses, phone numbers, eligibility rules and deadlines change, and listings go out of date.
- Any agreement you make with an organization is between you and them. Xodus is not a party to it, does not supervise it, and is not responsible for how it turns out.
- Xodus links to other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
If you are a partner organization: you are responsible for everything you publish. Keep it accurate and current, describe only services you actually provide, hold the rights to any text and images you upload, and comply with the law that applies to you — including fair housing, equal opportunity, licensing and advertising rules. We can edit, unpublish or remove a listing, and we will tell you why when we do.
Job postings and applications
Employers post their own roles and make their own hiring decisions. Xodus is not an employer, an employment agency, a staffing firm or a recruiter, and we are not part of the hiring process. We do not screen employers, verify that a role exists, or guarantee that anyone will read your application.
The status on an application — saved, applied, interviewing, offer, hired, declined, withdrawn — is a record kept by you and the employer inside Xodus. It is not a decision by us and has no meaning outside the app.
Employers using Xodus must follow the employment laws that apply to them, including the rules on how a criminal record may be considered in hiring. We will remove a posting and close an account over a discriminatory or unlawful posting.
Your plan and recommendations
Xodus can generate a personalized plan and suggest organizations, using an automated system. It works from the information in your profile, so an incomplete profile produces a weaker plan — and like any automated system it can be wrong, out of date, or miss something important about your situation.
Treat it as a starting point to review with your officer, case manager or support person. It is not advice, not a decision, and not a substitute for a person who knows your circumstances. You and your support team can change any part of it. The privacy policy sets out exactly what information is used to generate it.
Content you submit
"Your content" means anything you put into Xodus: profile details, documents and photos you upload, comments, notes, listings and job postings.
You keep ownership of your content. You give us permission to store it, display it to the people entitled to see it, and process it as needed to run the service — including hosting it with the providers named in our privacy policy. For a listing or job posting you publish, that permission extends to showing it publicly for as long as it is published. That is all the permission we take: we do not acquire your content, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to advertise anything.
You are responsible for your content, and you confirm you have the right to submit it. Do not upload documents about someone else without the authority to do so.
Rules of use
Xodus is used by people at a vulnerable point in their lives. These rules exist to keep it safe. Do not:
- Harass, threaten, bully, stalk or abuse anyone, or encourage anyone else to.
- Post content that is hateful or discriminatory, sexually explicit, or that exists to demean someone.
- Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your role, your organization, or your authority over someone else's information.
- Post a listing or job posting for a service or role that does not exist, or that misleads people about what they will receive.
- Collect, copy, scrape or republish other people's information from Xodus, or use it for anything other than the support you are here to give or receive.
- Use Xodus to advertise, recruit or solicit outside the listing and posting features meant for it.
- Break into, disrupt, overload or probe the service, or try to reach accounts or data you are not entitled to.
- Upload malware, or anything designed to interfere with the service or the devices of the people using it.
- Use Xodus for anything illegal, or to help anyone else do so.
Reporting content
If you see something on Xodus that is inaccurate, misleading, abusive, or otherwise breaks the rules above, tell us at info@xodus-pre.com. Include where you saw it and what is wrong. We review reports and can remove content, unpublish a listing, or suspend an account.
We may review content and remove or restrict anything that breaks these terms, but we are not obliged to monitor everything, and we do not promise that everything on Xodus is accurate. Removing something is not an admission about it, and leaving something up is not approval of it.
If you supervise or support other people
Officers, case managers, support people and organization administrators can see and enter information about other people. If that is you, you additionally agree that:
- You have the authority, consent or legal basis your role requires to hold and enter information about the people on your caseload, and you will follow the rules of your own agency or organization.
- You will use the information only to support those people — not for any other purpose, and not for anything personal.
- You will keep what you enter accurate, and correct it when you learn it is wrong.
- You will not share your access, and you will keep confidential what you see.
- You will tell us promptly if you no longer supervise or support someone, so their record can be reassigned.
If you delete your account, the people you supervise are not deleted with you — their records are detached from you and await reassignment, because that information is theirs, not yours.
Suspending or closing an account
We can suspend or close an account, or remove content, if someone breaks these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect someone. Where it is safe and lawful to do so we will tell you why, and give you a chance to respond.
We can also change or discontinue features, or stop offering Xodus altogether. If we discontinue the service we will give reasonable notice and a way to get your information out first.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself at any time, from your profile, without asking us. Open Profile, scroll to Delete Account, and choose Delete my account. Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no undo. Xodus shows you what will be deleted and what will be kept before you confirm.
Two things outlive your account by design: listings and job postings you published stay visible but stop being linked to you, and the records of anyone you supervised are not deleted. The privacy policy explains this in full.
Our intellectual property
Xodus — the software, the design, the name and the logo — belongs to us and our licensors. You may use it to do what the service is for, and nothing more. Do not copy, modify, resell, reverse engineer or create derivative works from it, and do not use our name or logo without written permission. These terms grant you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use Xodus, not any ownership in it.
The App Store
If you got the Xodus app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store's terms also apply to your download of it, and the following applies to Apple specifically: this agreement is between you and us, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app; if the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, if any, and Apple has no other warranty obligation; we, not Apple, are responsible for any claim relating to the app; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what we collect, who can see it, which service providers are involved, and how to delete your account and its data. It forms part of these terms. Using Xodus means you accept both.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top and post the new version here. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations we will email the address on your account before it takes effect. Continuing to use Xodus after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, you can delete your account.
Disclaimers
XODUS IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW WE DISCLAIM THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
In plainer terms: we work hard to keep Xodus accurate and available, but we cannot promise it will always be up, free of errors, or that the information in it is complete or current. We do not warrant the conduct, quality, safety or legality of any organization, employer or user on the platform, and we are not responsible for what happens between you and them.
Some states do not allow certain warranties to be excluded, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, XODUS AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF XODUS.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO XODUS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some states do not allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of what you did on Xodus — content you posted, information you entered about another person without the authority to, or a breach of these terms — you agree to cover our reasonable losses, costs and legal fees. We will tell you about any such claim and let you take part in defending it.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we both consent to those courts. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the right you may have to bring a claim where you live.
Before filing anything, please contact us — most problems are faster to fix by email than in court, and we would rather hear about it.
Other terms
- These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Xodus.
- If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours if Xodus is sold or reorganized, and we will tell you if that happens.
- Notices to you go to the email address on your account, or appear in the app. Notices to us go to the address below.
- Nothing in these terms makes either of us the other's partner, employer, employee or agent.
